New Water Rates Effective May 31, 2026
Denver Water declared Stage 1 drought conditions on March 25, 2026, limiting outdoor watering to two days per week. On April 8, 2026, Denver Water also approved a surcharge of $1.65 per 1,000 (G) for water delivered to the district in excess of its Average Winter Consumption (AWC). In addition, Denver Water has requested a 20% reduction in overall water use during the drought period.
On May 12, 2026, the Board of Directors approved a modest increase in water rates to help offset a portion of the financial impact associated with Denver Water's surcharge. Even with this adjustment, Willows Water expects to experience a revenue shortfall in 2026 as a result of these additional costs. This rate increase allows Willows Water to maintain operations and infrastructure during this time. Willows Water respectfully asks all residents to do their part by complying with Stage 1 drought restrictions and conserving water whenever possible.
